How do I clean a recording?
Open the app and tap "New Clip" on the Home tab. You can record a new clip with the microphone, import an audio or video file from Files or Photos, or send any audio/video to Voice Isolation via the share sheet from another app. Tap the cleanup button and you'll get the cleaned version back in seconds.
Does my audio leave my phone?
No. Every clip is processed entirely on your device. Voice Isolation has no servers and never uploads your audio anywhere. The app works in airplane mode.
What's the A/B preview?
After processing, the Clip Detail screen shows a segmented toggle with "Original" and "Cleaned" options. Tap to switch the playback source instantly so you can hear the difference. The waveform shows both versions visually.
What's the difference between free and Pro?
Free includes 3 cleaned clips per day, up to 60 seconds each, with the Auto cleanup preset and M4A export. Pro removes all daily limits, allows clips up to 10 minutes, unlocks 6 cleanup presets (Wind, Traffic, Café, Room Echo, Music Bleed, Auto), adds video audio replacement, WAV export, batch processing, and removes all ads.
How does the 7-day free trial work?
The 7-day free trial is on the annual plan only. When you start it, you get full Pro access for 7 days. If you cancel before day 7 in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, you are not charged. If you don't cancel, the trial converts to a paid annual subscription ($29.99/yr) on day 7.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open the Settings tab in the app and tap "Restore Purchases". This will restore your Pro subscription if you've previously purchased one with the same Apple ID.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find Voice Isolation Pro and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
The cleaned audio still has noise. Why?
Voice Isolation is a rescue tool, not a studio. It works very well on common backgrounds (wind, café chatter, traffic, room echo, music bleed) but extremely clipped or heavily compressed source audio can't be fully recovered. For best results, record at the highest quality your source supports and try the different cleanup presets in Settings → Defaults → Cleanup Preset (Pro).
Can I clean audio on a video?
Yes. Pro users can import a video, clean its audio track, and export a new MP4 with the cleaned voice in place — the original video stream is preserved exactly. Tap the menu button on the Clip Detail screen and choose "Replace Audio on Video".
Why does the app need microphone access?
Microphone access is required to record new clips directly within the app. If you only import existing files (from Voice Memos, Files, Photos, or the share sheet), you can deny microphone access — the import features will still work.
What devices does Voice Isolation work on?
Voice Isolation works on any iPhone or iPad running iOS 18 or later. The app uses on-device neural processing, so newer devices (iPhone 14 Pro and up) clean audio noticeably faster than older models.
